I don't know when I began to express myself creatively. It seems as if I have always "needed" to create to be whole. I am a native California girl married to a Texan living in the East Bay of Northern California. I enjoy scrapbooking, papercrafts, sewing, cross-stitch, baking, photography and documenting the everyday moments of my life as a wife and mom.
Recently I joined a group of artistic women to create "art" everyday. As a mom making time for yourself is the biggest challenge. One that I hope to accomplish in the morning hours before the family starts the day. To help get to that goal I have created a vision statement for myself. One of the exercises of the group is to post that statement in order to be accountable for that vision. So, here it is:
I am a creative woman. I try to capture the beauty of my life through my art. I am creating a body of work to reflect who I am as a wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, friend and woman. I will do art everyday – regardless of my emotions. I will be true to the emotion I am experiencing & I will create from my soul. I will not compare my art to other artists for each artist it unique. I will explore different techniques and medium with an open mind. I will strive to be a good student & then take what I have learned & make it unique to me.
